A few days ago I posted a shadowbox I made to commemorate our visit to London's Playhouse Theater to see John Barrowman in La Cage Aux Folles. I just finished the other two and here they are:

My son just showed me a snowman he made at his class Christmas party, and I thought I'd share in case some of you would be interested. Santa hasn't brought my new camera yet, so one large crappy cell pic it is! )

Tomorrow night I'm going to whip up some Oreo truffles (made with 16oz crushed oreos + 8oz cream cheese, rolled into balls, refridgerated, then coated with melted chocolate)

I have 3 questions I hope someone can answer:

1. After they are made I will be taking them to my family on Christmas Eve. They live about 3 hours away. Will they be ok sitting out and not in the refridgerator? (They do contain cream cheese)

2. Does anyone have any ideas for decorating? I was going to do one package plain oreos covered with white choloate and one package mint oreos covered with dark chocolate. I figured I'd dust the black oreo crumbs over the white chocolate truffles but not sure about the mint ones.

3. I'm sure some of you have all ready made these, so do you have any other tips?

Thanks!

i made this yesterday afternoon in bed while watching a documentary called The Flaming Lips: The Fearless Freaks, which inspired this necklace. it was fun to make and didn't take very long, so i'm thinking of making a few of these charms. i think if i do make more, they will have bigger white parts, like real eyes, lol.

Taking directions from this website, I decided to make matryoshka (Russian nesting doll) holiday greeting cards this year.

First, I created a template (they also provide one on the linked website) and cut out a bunch of oulines on patterned cardstock (it was pretty difficult to find this, but I found some books of it at Michael's. I also did okay with some patterned paper which was stiffer than regular paper but not quite cardstock).

hey all! just wondering if PearlEx pigments are essentially the same as micas you can get from Coastal Scents, TKB Trading, etc.

I've never bought any PearlEx so I'm not sure if it's pure mica, or if it has some specific carrier/binder/filler that makes it more suited to various artistic applications.

Has anyone used cosmetic micas from TKB, etc., for their crafts/art?

Here's another painting I'm giving as a gift. I did it for my cousin who's really into Audrey. I used oil based enamel sign paint. It's really think, smelly and takes forever to dry, but it's perfect for this kind of high contrast pop art. It's super glossy, opaque and is weather proof (more so than the canvas I'd imagine).

Iridescent Cellophane, is it made of Unicorn Tails and Babies First Giggles? Honestly, with the time I've been having finding the stuff it might as well be!

The plain clear stuff is 1-2-3 easy peasy to find, but I require the pretty iridescent stuff. I'm in Canada (Toronto, specifically) so please no suggestions for US Chain only stores! I need it in a bit of a pinch, so I can't order online.

Please and Thank You!

p.s. Hello I am New! I am new to crafting, but I enjoy it muchly.

I have a slight obsession with saving every fortune I get. Any ideas on how to display them? Right now I just tape them to my desk and stick them in my wallet or any pouch with a zipper.
